An Unbelievable Rewriting of History

The title of this post is part of Barbara Boxer's response to Condi Rice's shocking and arrogance-riddled testimony on Capitol Hill. Per Rice, after 9/11, it was the Bush administration's intention to "redesign" the Middle East.

"We had to make a decision that we were going to go after the root cause of what caused September 11," she said. "So what I'm describing to you, Senator, is not what you voted for in the war resolution, but the broader strategy of the administration."

I Thought Conservatives Were Supposed To Be, Well, Conservative

The senate just voted to give Bush $50 billion more dollars for his wars. What happened to the fiscally conservative Republican Party?

Could we have avoided this war? Yes. Could we have predicated the damage Hurricane Katrina would have on New Orleans? The experts did! What's with the spending "conservatives"? Spend, spend, spend. A no-bid Halliburton contract here. A no-bid Bechtel contract there. Geesh! You'd think this country was run by a group of Park Avenue housewives.

Here are some articles on the subject.

Senate votes to give Bush $50 billion more for wars

An excellent (and must read!) article from the April 2005 issue of Vanity Fair.
