Who am I?

Maija, a morally and ethically conservative stay-at-home mom and dedicated wife.

Why did I start this blog?

Missing the water cooler banter at the workplace, I started this blog as a place for me to vent, do some contemplation and retain those critical thinking skills (all moms can relate). It's also my excuse to read as much international and national news as possible during the hour Sesame Street is on.

Other Interests

Other than being a wife, mom and blogger, my interests include riding my pinto Dutch Warmblood horse in the disciplines of dressage and jumping (when he's sound), listening to and singing opera (I'm a soprano. Puccini's my favorite!), planning fabulous tea parties and reading (historical novels, and my weakness, Vanity Fair).

My husband and I are also trying our hand at winemaking (our first batch, 10 gallons of Sauvignon Blanc is in the basement fermenting). We'll be planting our micro-vineyard next spring!
